The New Forest National Park is a beautiful, historic landscape of woodland, heath and soft, rolling views to the sea. It inspires images of an ancient land, clothed in greenery and purple heather and grazed by free-roaming animals. You will see ponies and cattle, the 'architects of the Forest'. The landscape of Open Forest is shaped by what they eat and don't eat. Unspoilt coast and gentle farmland combine with Open Forest to make the National Park one of the jewels in the crown of the English landscape. It's a great place to learn about and explore: one of 'Britain's breathing places'.
