Bucklebury Common is situated between Upper Bucklebury and Chapel Row. The common was once an area of extensive heathland with large areas of heather and gorse. It is home to nightjars, woodlarks and reptiles. The site is worth a visit at any time of year but especially during August and September to see the brilliant purple heather and if you are lucky hear nightjar.
