Disused railway line footpath
The disused Winchester to Newbury railway line running from Kingsworthy to South Wonston, now a public footpath and briddle way, is being actively maintained and enhanced by the Worthys Conservation Volunteers in association with Hampshire Paths Partnership. This has included the creation of new vistas as well as three new benches installed at various points along the path. Worthy Down Station has now established a rather unique dry-land habitat of flora which is also maintaining and looking to protect. Unfortunately motorcross riders are causing some disturbance to the terrain. See also the groups other places and projects on our website www.worthysconservationvolunteers.org.uk.
