Darley Fields is situated across from Darley Park on the opposite side of the river Derwent and is primarily used its for sporting facilities. It also borders the edge of Chester Green, the site of the Deventio Roman Fort. This is where the Romans first settled in the city at Little Chester, as well as over on the old Racecourse site at Chaddesden where there was once a cemetery. The main entrance and car park is via Old Chester Road, off Mansfield Road.
