The site after clearing
The Brazley Nature Area Steering Group has been working over the past few years to transform the space that sits between the Brazley and Claypool estates into somewhere that the whole community can enjoy. Previously the site has been a magnet for fly-tipping and other forms of anti-social behaviour. A major part of the group's work has involved improving access to the site and working to encourage better use of the space. This has seen the group install a new path in the area and organise a series of events at the site. Local residents, school children and a youth group have all volunteered to help out on clean up events, planting days and bird feeder making sessions. The events have helped to spark interest in the group's work and the area whilst the path and site clearance have allowed for better access to the space. Local residents report that children now regularly visit the site to spot frogs and other wildlife found in the area.
