Hale Moss Nature Reserve - Cumbria Wildlife Trust

This reserve is a very unusual habitat which has developed on the bed of a former lake. Early marsh orchid, grass of Parnassus, bird's-eye primrose and butterwort are abundant. To the north is an area of woodland. Roe deer and hares are regularly seen on the reserve. Curlew, long-tailed tit, buzzard and heron have also been recorded. This reserve is designated SSSI.
