The Friends celebrate their 2007/8 Green Flag Award
Marple Memorial Park is a council owned park in the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport. Previously a private estate, the land was given to the community in 1922 in Memory of the Marple men killed during WW1. Today the park is a Green Flag Award winning greenspace including formal gardens, local heritage features, a library, childrens play areas, bowling green, picnic areas, woodland walks and wildlife areas, a skate park and green open spaces.

Further information: Marple Memorial Park has an active Friends of the Park Group that meet once a month and holds regular task days to help with maintenance and improvements to all aspects of the park, including planting and development of new wildlife areas. Details of past achievements, minutes of meetings, dates of future meetings and task days are available on the Friends' web site. The Friends will be delighted to welcome visitors and new members to their meetings, which are held in the library in Memorial Park.
